Stop crying!

Three years old,
Nekesa left behind,
By her loving mother,
She knows no speech or gesture,
To change the mothers decision,
She weeps bitterly.

Nekesa four years old,
Grown to be in school,
Went to junior preschool,
Playing with her friends,
She admires a friend’s toy,
But had granny can’t buy,
She wept bitterly.

She wears torn garments,
Her guardian has no ruppees,
To buy her the new one,
A friend jeers at her,
Others breaks to laughter,
But she remembers her mother,
She weeps bitterly.

Who can comfort her
Her pains are too much,
Nekesa now a teen,
Has no feel of love,
Isolated in her own cocoon,
Feels rejected and disowned,
She weeps bitterly.

There is only one hope for her,
To overlook her nasty problems,
And read for her unknown future,
Maybe her uncaring mother one day,
Will remember her to meet,
And full joy will bloom.
